After 9 years of experience combing her expertise in neuropsychology and neuroimaging to improve the diagnosis and treatment of brain injuries (as well as various mental and emotional disorders), Dr. Fong opened Cognitive FX in 2014 serving as its clinical director and co-owner. Cognitive FX specializes in concussion care and utilizes a proprietary treatment program created by Dr. Fong called Enhanced Performance In Cognition (EPIC) Treatment, which integrates fMRI into the latest mTBI treatment. Under Dr. Fong’s direction, CFX has treated almost 2,000 concussion and other brain injury patients, including professional athletes from the NFL, NHL, and the Olympics. Additionally, Dr. Fong is the vice president and president-elect for the Brain Injury Alliance of Utah, a board member of the United States Brain Injury Alliance, an advisory board member for PINK Concussions, and the director of concussion services at TB12 Sports Therapy Center. Deana is the executive director for several Brain Balance locations and leverages her background in childhood education to work directly with patients as they go through the program. The Brain Balance Program is designed to help address learning disorders and processing challenges, as well as improve focus, anxiety, and behavior in children. It includes physical and sensorimotor exercises, academic skills training and nutrition. Dr. Hartman knows first-hand what severe injury feels like, having suffered a traumatic brain injury and back injury through his athletic pursuits which was the impetus for his career in functional neurology. Dr. Hartman is a chiropractic physician with board certifications in neurology, rehabilitation, functional neurology, vestibular rehabilitation, and brain injury rehabilitation. His specialties are in degenerative and musculoskeletal conditions, brain injuries, such as concussion and traumatic/anoxic brain injury, and autonomic conditions, such as POTS and dysautonomia.
